Bisbee 1000-The Great Stair Climb 2022
Founded in 1991 this charitable fundraiser promotes healthy living in Cochise County, Arizona, where the city of Bisbee is the county seat. The Bisbee1000 is touted as the most unique physical fitness challenge — or friendly fitness walk — in the country. Both runners and walkers -1300 this year – take in some of the most scenic parts of Old Bisbee as they ascend staircases, traverse winding roads, and stroll atop some of the city’s oldest granite-stacked retaining walls.
This is a very popular annual event that brings a lot of people and their tourist dollars to the city. I interviewed the founder, gathered images, wrote the article, fact-checked it, and published it on the NewsBreak and Herald Review NABUR websites.
